General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha Receives Tunisian Minister of Defence Khaled Sehili: A Strategic Milestone in Algerian-Tunisian Military Cooperation

Algiers – October 2025 – General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, received on Tuesday the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Tunisia, Khaled Sehili, who is on an official working visit to Algeria at the head of a high-ranking military delegation.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the prospects for bilateral military cooperation and explored means of further strengthening coordination on issues of mutual concern. The discussions also touched upon the complex security challenges facing the broader regional environment, with both parties exchanging insights on current developments and shared approaches to stability and defence.
General Chanegriha emphasized that Algerian-Tunisian relations are of a strategic nature, deeply rooted in historical ties, shared principles, and a continuous tradition of constructive dialogue between the leaderships of the two brotherly nations. He further underlined that, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defence, Algeria remains committed to deepening its cooperation with Tunisia across all fields, particularly in defence and security.
He stressed that the security and stability of both Algeria and Tunisia are inextricably linked, requiring the highest levels of coordination, consultation, and strategic foresight. Addressing the broader challenges in the region—security, economic, and geopolitical—General Chanegriha reaffirmed the importance of fostering an integrated and forward-looking approach based on dialogue, coordination, and the exchange of expertise and best practices in areas of shared interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides signed a joint governmental agreement on defence cooperation between the Ministries of Defence of Algeria and Tunisia. This landmark accord represents a decisive milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two countries and marks a significant step toward deepening bilateral military collaboration and enhancing regional stability.
