A New Era of Catering Excellence Takes Flight: Air Algérie Launches Cutting-Edge Catering Center

Algiers, Algeria  – The future of in-flight catering is set to soar to new heights as the Minister of Transport, Mr. Youcef Cherfa, inaugurated the ceremony for Air Algérie’s state-of-the-art catering center on Tuesday. Nestled within the confines of the bustling Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers, this visionary project promises to redefine the culinary experience aboard Air Algérie and Tassili Airlines flights while also offering its exceptional services to international carriers.

With an ambitious vision in mind, the Minister of Transport expressed his enthusiasm for this remarkable undertaking. Mr. Cherfa, in a statement conveyed by the Algerian Press Service (APS), underscored the center’s pivotal role in Air Algérie’s strategic restructuring plan. “This project is a cornerstone of Air Algérie’s restructuring program, aimed at positioning Algiers Airport as a premier intercontinental hub,” he declared with unwavering conviction.

The catering center, boasting an impressive production capacity of approximately 40,000 meals per day, is poised to elevate Air Algérie to new heights in the aviation industry. “The center will not only enhance the catering services for Air Algérie and Tassili Airlines passengers but will also extend its high-quality offerings to international carriers, propelling Air Algérie to a continental leadership role,” Minister Cherfa affirmed with pride.

In a testament to its grandeur and sophistication, Air Algérie revealed that the forthcoming catering center, entrusted to the public company Cosider, will span two expansive floors, covering a vast area of 10,556 square meters. The undertaking comes with a price tag of nearly 2 billion Algerian dinars, and its construction is expected to conclude in just eight months.

This monumental endeavor marks a pivotal moment for Air Algérie, Tassili Airlines, and the aviation industry at large. The catering center is poised to set new industry standards for excellence, further enhancing the reputation of Algiers Airport and securing Air Algérie’s status as a beacon of service and innovation in the continental aviation landscape.
