ALGIERS- Minister of Housing, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, announced on Thursday the identification of land allotments for housing projects under the “AADL 3” program nationwide.

The minister emphasized that this operation had been “anticipated” in preparation for the launch of subscriptions before the end of the current semester.

Responding to a question from a member of the People’s National Assembly (APN) regarding Bouira province, Belaribi stated that the province had been allocated a land allotment of 15 hectares for the construction of over 2,000 housing units under the new program.

In the ongoing effort to combat anarchic constructions, Minister Belaribi mentioned that the sector was working on drafting an urban planning law aimed at proposing and implementing modern standards in line with the aspirations of the Algerian authorities and citizens.

He elaborated that this law would establish the Urban Planning Police responsible for enforcing laws in the field of urban planning, complementing Law 08-15, which already empowers them to ensure the conformity of constructions and urban structures under Article 11.

Belaribi disclosed that urban planning inspectors and qualified agents had issued 20,919 violation reports to the relevant authorities in 2023.
