Abdelkader Bengrina Urges Malians to Prepare Responsibly for a Post-Junta Era

Algiers – November 2025 – Abdelkader Bengrina, President of the El Binaa El Watani Movement, called on the Malian people to prepare earnestly and responsibly for any potential power vacuum that may arise within the ruling military junta in Bamako.
Speaking against the backdrop of escalating political and security instability, Bengrina warned that the deteriorating conditions in Mali signal a moment of profound uncertainty that demands foresight, unity, and strategic preparation. He emphasized that the ruling military faction, which has adopted an increasingly hostile stance toward Algeria, now finds itself facing growing isolation and a marked decline in influence both domestically and across the wider region.
According to Bengrina, this weakening of the junta’s grip necessitates responsible anticipation by Mali’s national forces to ensure that the country’s next political phase is guided by legitimate, unifying leadership rather than opportunistic power struggles. He stressed that the people of Mali must not allow their national achievements to be “hijacked once again,” as he put it, by the same forces that have derailed the nation’s democratic aspirations in the past.
The leader of El Binaa El Watani called on all patriotic actors in Mali to unite around a national consensus and rally behind an inclusive and credible figure capable of leading a transitional phase that safeguards stability and prevents the country’s descent into chaos or fragmentation. He underscored that such unity is essential not only for Mali’s internal recovery but also for preserving regional balance and security, particularly at a time when the Sahel faces increasing volatility and external interference.
