Acting Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb Oversees Final Preparations for the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair in Algiers

Algiers – September 2025 – With just days before the grand opening of the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), Acting Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb conducted an on-site inspection at the Palace of Expositions des Pins Maritimes, underscoring Algeria’s determination to host one of the continent’s most ambitious economic gatherings.
Spanning from September 4 to 10, the fair will bring together over 2,000 exhibitors, including nearly 200 Algerian companies, delegations from 140 countries, and more than 35,000 professional visitors. It promises to be not only a commercial showcase but also a powerful affirmation of Algeria’s role as a driving force for African economic sovereignty.
Meticulous Preparations for a Global Showcase
During his inspection, Ghrieb reviewed exhibition halls, stands, conference facilities, and cultural spaces, ensuring that every detail reflects the highest standards of organization and aesthetics. He instructed organizers to complete all works within the set deadlines, insisting that the event’s presentation must mirror Algeria’s prestige and leave an indelible impression on international visitors.
“The image we project here is not merely logistical; it is political and symbolic. Algeria must stand tall as a host nation, ready to welcome Africa and the world with excellence,” he emphasized.
From Presidential Vision to National Mobilization
The inspection follows President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s strategic meeting earlier this week, during which he oversaw preparations for the opening ceremony of the IATF, held under the slogan “A Gateway to New Opportunities.” At the fair, trade and investment agreements exceeding 44 billion USD are expected to be signed, cementing Algeria’s position as a continental hub for business and cooperation.
For international marketing expert Aissam Zemmal, this dual-level involvement of the Head of State and the Acting Prime Minister sends “a clear and reassuring signal” to foreign investors. “It demonstrates Algeria’s commitment to fostering an ‘African Africa’ — a vision of continental integration free from external dependency, while also expanding its openness to the wider world.”
Elevating Algeria’s Regional and Continental Standing
Beyond immediate economic benefits, the fair is poised to strengthen Algeria’s international image. “When a head of state personally supervises such an event, it not only elevates its credibility but engraves it in collective memory,” Zemmal noted.
This visibility, he added, will bolster trust between Algerian companies and foreign partners, positioning Algeria as one of the continent’s economic locomotives. For many African businesses, the IATF 2025 in Algiers is more than a marketplace: it is an entry point into continental expansion and long-term partnerships.
