Adjal Undertakes a Presidential Mission to Mozambique to Bolster Bilateral Energy Cooperation

Algiers – October 2025 – On behalf of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal, began a two-day working visit to the Republic of Mozambique on Tuesday, marking a new stage in the strengthening of bilateral relations between Algiers and Maputo.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies, the visit aims to examine key files of bilateral cooperation and explore new avenues of partnership in sectors of shared strategic interest, particularly in energy, renewable resources, and industrial development.
Accompanied by a high-level Algerian delegation, Minister Adjal’s mission includes the President of the Council for Algerian Economic Renewal (CREA), as well as the Chairmen and CEOs of Sonatrach, Sonelgaz, and Saidal — three of Algeria’s flagship public enterprises representing the energy, electricity, and pharmaceutical industries. Senior officials from the Ministry of Energy also form part of the delegation, underscoring the multidimensional scope of the visit.
During his stay in Maputo, Adjal is scheduled to hold a series of high-level meetings and talks with prominent Mozambican officials. These discussions will focus on consolidating cooperation frameworks, identifying mutually beneficial investment opportunities, and promoting technological and industrial exchanges.
This visit, conducted under the direct mandate of President Tebboune, reflects Algeria’s growing engagement with African partners and its commitment to fostering South–South cooperation based on solidarity, complementarity, and shared development goals. It also reaffirms Algeria’s strategic vision to extend its energy and industrial partnerships across the continent, positioning both Algeria and Mozambique as pivotal players in Africa’s sustainable growth trajectory.
