Algiers – September 2025 – From September 4 to 10, Pavilion G at the SAFEX exhibition grounds will transform into a living canvas of memory, resilience, and creativity as Algeria welcomes the collective exhibition “African Imprints.” Organized within the framework of the CANEX 2025 program, the initiative is spearheaded by the International Festival of Contemporary Art (IFCA) in collaboration with the Algerian Agency for Cultural Outreach (AARC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Arts.

Far beyond the confines of a conventional exhibition, “African Imprints” seeks to affirm the deep and unshakable sense of belonging to the African continent. It is a continent that has endured colonization, upheavals, and crises, yet has continually risen through the resilience of its peoples and the boundless imagination of its artists. Here, art emerges not only as a reflection of life but as a force capable of transmuting pain into beauty, struggle into creativity, and diversity into a symphony of shared humanity.

Every work featured in the exhibition carries the personal imprint of its creator. Taken together, these works weave a vast human tapestry that testifies to the vitality, unity, and plurality of the African spirit. This collective creation is a testimony to how art can transcend barriers, preserve memory, and chart new horizons for a common future.

“African Imprints” is conceived as an open dialogue — between traditions and modernity, between memory and ambition, between local experiences and continental visions. It reaffirms the conviction that art is a universal language capable of bridging divides, fostering understanding, and illuminating life’s most complex pathways.

As Algeria positions itself at the crossroads of African cultural resurgence, this exhibition embodies both a celebration and a declaration: Africa’s story is not merely one of trials but of triumphs; not merely of wounds but of enduring imprints that inspire, connect, and unite.
