ALGIERS- An agreement for the digitization of training, technological development, and scientific research was signed Tuesday in Algiers, between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and that of Digitization and Statistics.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari and the Minister of Digitization and Statistics, Meriem Benmouloud, signed this agreement at the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Baddari indicated that the agreement signed covers “two main components, the first relating to training in the field of census and digitization, while the second concerns support for the Ministry of Digitization and Statistics in the realization of its digitization strategy for the various ministerial sectors”.

According to Mr. Baddari, the integrated information system of the higher education sector records “the files of 1,700,000 students, 64,000 teachers and more than 100,000 civil servants and workers in different activities, which makes it an electronic sector par excellence”.

In turn, Ms. Benmouloud affirmed that the purpose of this agreement is to set up “cooperation frameworks between the two sectors in the fields of training and technological development, with a view to consolidating the human resource which is intended to be the essential pillar for the development of the infrastructure relating to digitization”, in addition to “strengthening the role of the university in the establishment of the national census system”.
