Algiers, Algeria | April 30th, 2025 — Hamza Benhamouda, the CEO of Air Algérie, has revealed an ambitious expansion plan aimed at strengthening the airline’s international network and better serving the needs of the Algerian diaspora. Speaking about the airline’s vision, Benhamouda emphasized that the addition of new international routes, special discounts on tickets, and the acquisition of new aircraft are central to the airline’s future growth and its commitment to supporting Algerians abroad.
In his statement, Benhamouda explained that Air Algérie’s approach to air connectivity is not purely based on business logic but is also driven by the aim to cater to the needs of the Algerian community living overseas. One of the key features of the strategy is the introduction of a series of promotional offers, including discounts of up to 50% on tickets during Ramadan, aimed at making travel more accessible for Algerians wishing to visit their home country during this period.
Additionally, the airline has launched a special “Eid” offer, providing discounts of up to 60% on tickets for those traveling to Algeria to celebrate the holiday. These initiatives highlight Air Algérie’s dedication to meeting the expectations and desires of the national community living abroad, especially during key times of the year such as Ramadan and Eid.
Benhamouda further highlighted the airline’s international expansion, noting that Air Algérie has recently opened a new direct flight route between Algiers and Abuja, Nigeria, and plans are in place to launch a new route connecting Algiers with Amsterdam. The addition of these new routes reflects the airline’s growing global presence and its goal of connecting Algeria with key international markets.
In a bid to enhance the airline’s capacity, Benhamouda also announced the acquisition of new aircraft. This move is expected to bolster Air Algérie’s ability to expand its network of international routes, enabling the airline to serve more destinations and cater to an increasing demand for air travel.
Looking ahead, Benhamouda revealed that Air Algérie is in the process of finalizing agreements with international airlines to further expand its global reach. These partnerships are part of a broader strategy to enhance connectivity and make Algeria more accessible to the world.
