Air Algérie Expands Horizons: New Routes to Guangzhou, Rotterdam, and N’Djamena Mark a Strategic Leap

Algiers – October 2025 – In a stride toward global prominence, Air Algérie has announced the launch of three new international routes to Guangzhou (China), Rotterdam (Netherlands), and N’Djamena (Chad) starting this October, solidifying its position as a key player in intercontinental aviation. This expansion, part of the airline’s 2025–2026 winter program, reflects its renewed ambition to anchor Algeria as a vital air hub bridging Africa, Europe, and Asia.
The move comes as Air Algérie intensifies the modernization of its network and fleet, aligning with the government’s broader vision to project Algeria as a central player in regional and global connectivity. With new-generation long-haul aircraft entering service, the national carrier is now equipped with the technological and operational capacity to serve high-potential economic and tourist destinations.
The inauguration of the Algiers–Guangzhou route marks a milestone in the strengthening of Algeria–China relations. Scheduled to commence at the end of October with three weekly rotations aboard the state-of-the-art Airbus A330-900neo, this route will directly connect Algiers to one of Asia’s most dynamic industrial and commercial hubs. Beyond facilitating business travel, academic mobility, and tourism, it will play a pivotal role in boosting trade flows between the two countries, at a time when bilateral exchanges are expanding at an unprecedented pace.
Simultaneously, the Algiers–Rotterdam line, set to operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, will bolster Air Algérie’s European network. This route offers a competitive and convenient alternative for members of the Algerian diaspora and business travelers in northern Europe. It strengthens the airline’s diversification strategy, aimed at directly linking Algiers with emerging European cities while enhancing connections to Africa and the Middle East through the Algerian capital’s growing hub.
The launch of the Algiers–N’Djamena service further demonstrates Air Algérie’s commitment to reinforcing Algeria’s ties with sub-Saharan Africa. By connecting the Algerian and Chadian capitals with two weekly flights, the airline contributes to fostering economic, academic, and cultural exchanges, while supporting regional integration in alignment with Algeria’s diplomatic vision for the continent. This expansion forms part of a broader objective: transforming Houari Boumediene Airport into a genuine crossroads linking Africa, Europe, and Asia.
