The new headquarters is named in honor of the late moudjahid Saïd Ait Messaoudene (1933-2009), one of Algeria’s pioneering pilots, the third Director General of Air Algérie, and the key architect of the airline’s nationalization in 1972. This state-of-the-art building stands as a testament to the company’s significance and its future aspirations.

In his address, Minister Zahana congratulated Air Algérie on this monumental achievement, emphasizing the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing the airline’s performance. He stated, “Air Algérie is poised to meet the challenges of performance and follow in the footsteps of major international airlines, thanks to the dedication of its staff and the guidance of the nation’s leadership.”

Highlighting the airline’s prestigious position, Zahana noted, “Air Algérie is the third largest airline in Africa, with ambitious plans to advance and develop further. It is a civic-minded company, dedicated to providing connections within the country and bringing the national community abroad closer to home, offering public service that meets its customers’ expectations.”

Hamza Benhamouda, President and CEO of Air Algérie, remarked that the inauguration of the new headquarters marks the beginning of a new chapter in the airline’s history, aimed at achieving greater performance and enhancing competitive capabilities. He added, “The opening of Air Algérie’s headquarters during the 62nd anniversary of Independence and Youth Day strengthens the staff’s resolve to build a modern, efficient, and competitive company.”

The ceremony featured the awarding of medals to 21 distinguished Air Algérie employees, including former directors, executives, technicians, and administrators. An exhibition chronicling the history of Air Algérie showcased miniature models of the airline’s fleet and uniforms of the flight personnel, providing a glimpse into the company’s rich heritage.

Constructed by the Chinese State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), the new headquarters is strategically located, providing easy access from Houari Boumediene International Airport and major roadways. The building comprises two distinct blocks, A and B, connected by a corridor, and features modern workspaces across five floors, accommodating over 1,000 employees.

This new facility not only represents a significant investment in the airline’s infrastructure but also symbolizes Air Algérie’s ongoing commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence in service delivery.
