Al Adl Wal Ihsane (Justice and Benevolence) Rings the Alarm Bell: The Infiltration of the Zionist Project in Morocco Is a Betrayal of the Ummah

Algiers, Algeria | In a bold and uncompromising address, Mohamed Abbadi, Secretary-General of Morocco’s largest Islamic movement, Al Adl Wal Ihsane (Justice and Benevolence), delivered a scathing critique of the Moroccan regime’s complicity in the Zionist agenda, warning of a deepening infiltration that threatens the country’s identity, sovereignty, and moral standing within the Muslim world.

Broadcast live on the International Day of Solidarity with Gaza (August 3), Abbadi’s speech did not mince words. He described the normalization of relations with the Zionist entity as not only a political aberration but a catastrophic moral collapse and betrayal of the Ummah’s sacred duty toward Palestine.

“Supporting Gaza is not a luxury or a political gesture,” Abbadi declared. “It is an individual obligation (fard ‘ayn) and a divine test. To neglect it is to embrace disgrace in this world and divine reproach in the next.”

Zionist Encroachment in Moroccan Life

Abbadi warned that the Zionist project is no longer confined to Palestine, but is steadily embedding itself across Moroccan institutions — politically, economically, culturally, and artistically — aided by local collaborators who serve as willing agents of penetration.

“Through cowardice and servility,” he said, “certain elites have thrown open the gates to a project that represents oppression, erasure, and colonization — a betrayal of Morocco’s anti-colonial heritage.”

He cautioned that this normalization process could transform Morocco into a Zionist satellite, a staging ground for the ideological and strategic expansion of a regime known for apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and military aggression.

Hollow Gestures, Real Bloodshed

Condemning the performative gestures of some Arab and Muslim leaders, Abbadi dismissed statements of “concern” as empty pageantry in the face of real suffering.

“While Palestinian children are incinerated and Gaza is strangled, we issue tepid statements, take photos with war criminals, and welcome ships carrying instruments of death into our ports,” he said, alluding to Moroccan facilities implicated in logistical support.

His critique comes as Moroccan officials continue security, intelligence, and commercial cooperation with the Zionist entity, even amid credible international accusations of war crimes in Gaza.

A Nation Called to Its Conscience

Abbadi called on the Moroccan people, scholars, and civil society to resist this dangerous path. He urged religious leaders to abandon their silence and complicity and embrace their prophetic role as voices of truth.

“The scholar who issues statements but avoids the battlefield of justice has failed his mission,” he declared, referencing Islamic teachings that demand resistance in the face of injustice.

He extended his challenge to Arab regimes, criticizing the parading of military might that is never turned toward true enemies of the Ummah.

“What are armies worth if they do not protect the sanctity of Muslim blood?” he asked. “What is sovereignty without moral courage?”

Though Abbadi avoided naming names, the target of his reproach was clear: the Moroccan monarchy and its normalization accords. Behind diplomatic euphemisms lie arms deals, intelligence sharing, and the systemic whitewashing of Israeli crimes.

“Moroccan ports now host the vessels of those who starve Gaza,” he noted, “while officials boast of tolerance and heritage. What heritage is left when we sell our souls to apartheid?”

Why Europe Protests and We Do Not

One of Abbadi’s most damning indictments was his comparison between Muslim-majority nations and European societies, where thousands routinely mobilize against Zionist aggression — while many Arab governments, and even populations, remain indifferent or immobilized.

“Is the Ummah now so broken,” he asked, “that strangers across oceans grieve more for Gaza than those bound to it by faith, history, and honor?”

Mohamed Abbadi’s address was more than a condemnation — it was a call to moral insurrection against betrayal disguised as diplomacy. In an era where narratives are bought, sold, and manufactured, Al Adl Wal Ihsane remains one of the few movements in Morocco refusing to participate in the grand deception.

His message echoes like a prophetic warning:

“You cannot claim justice while embracing the architects of injustice. And no regime, no matter how ornate its palace or powerful its allies, can erase the stain of betrayal.”
