This transformation, rooted in the enduring values and revolutionary spirit of the National Liberation Army, has been recognized at the highest levels of leadership. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, paid homage during the military parade held in November 2024 to mark the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian Revolution, declaring:

“I salute the People’s National Army and all security branches stationed at our borders, defending our sacred land, safeguarding our airspace and maritime frontiers, and remaining ever-ready to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the legacy of our glorious martyrs and uphold the Republic and its achievements.”

The editorial further highlighted that the operational advances achieved in recent years are the direct result of the Army High Command’s foresight and the relentless dedication of the armed forces’ personnel across all levels. These strides include comprehensive reforms in training, acquisition of cutting-edge weaponry and technology, and rigorous combat preparedness.

In this regard, Chief of Staff of the ANP and Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Army General Saïd Chanegriha, continues to play a pivotal role in overseeing tactical readiness. His direct supervision of large-scale live-fire maneuvers—such as the recent joint exercises “Fortress 2025” in the Third Military Region and “Endurance 2025” in the Second Military Region—demonstrates an unwavering commitment to maintaining high alertness, strategic coordination, and battlefield proficiency.

These exercises, meticulously planned and flawlessly executed, reflect the elevated combat readiness of Algerian forces and their capacity to secure the country’s sovereignty under any circumstance. General Chanegriha emphasized during his recent visit to the Second Military Region the balanced approach of the ANP, which merges “combat skill and high professionalism” with a “deep-rooted patriotic spirit and unwavering commitment to the legacy of our martyrs and the principles of the Algerian Republic.”
