Algiers, Algeria | May 31st, 2025 — In a step toward advancing Algeria’s pharmaceutical industry, Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry Wassim Kouidri presided over the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Algerian pharmaceutical conglomerate Saidal and the Chinese group Trokey. The agreement, formalized this Saturday, sets in motion the establishment of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to producing cancer-fighting medications in the Constantine province.

According to an official statement from the Ministry, this strategic collaboration aims to bolster Algeria’s capacity to locally produce vital oncology drugs, reducing dependence on imports and enhancing healthcare sovereignty. The signing event was attended by senior officials from both Saidal and the Trokey group, underscoring the significance of this bilateral partnership.

This project marks a major milestone in Algeria’s commitment to tackling cancer through domestic pharmaceutical innovation and international collaboration, promising improved access to essential medicines for patients nationwide.
