Algeria, China Sign Memorandum of Cooperation in Digitalization

Algiers- Algeria, May 16, 2024 – Algeria and China have taken a significant stride towards fortifying their collaboration in the realm of digitalization and the digital economy. A memorandum of cooperation, signed between Meriem Benmouloud, the High Commissioner for Digitalization of Algeria, and Mr. Jin Zhuanglong, the Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology, during a ceremony hosted in China on Thursday, marks a pivotal moment in their bilateral relations.

This memorandum symbolizes a steadfast commitment to deepen the cooperation between the two nations across various domains associated with the digital transformation process. In the course of her visit to the People’s Republic of China, Ms. Benmouloud engaged in substantive discussions with the Chinese Minister, delving into potential areas of collaboration encompassing digitalization initiatives, capacity-building endeavors, and knowledge exchange initiatives.

The culmination of these deliberations resulted in the signing of the memorandum, emblematic of the mutual aspirations to fortify bilateral ties in the critical arena of digitalization and the digital economy. This collaborative endeavor underscores the pledges articulated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria and his Chinese counterpart to advance the partnership between their countries in this strategic domain.
