Algiers, Algeria | May 29, 2024 — During bilateral talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Wenbin in Beijing on Wednesday, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf reaffirmed Algeria’s dedication to implementing the agreements reached during President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s state visit to China last year.
Attaf highlighted the renewed vigor and momentum in the Algerian-Chinese partnership, significantly strengthened by the decisions made following President Tebboune’s visit. “Today, we are witnessing a new energy and drive in the Algerian-Chinese partnership as a result of all the decisions made after the President’s visit to China,” Attaf stated.
He expressed pride in the evolving partnership, noting that it has recently experienced a significant qualitative leap, particularly after President Tebboune’s state visit to China. Attaf pointed to the deep-rooted friendship between the two countries, which dates back to their mutual support during their respective liberation struggles and their pursuit of legitimate rights. This historical solidarity has laid a strong foundation for the current robust and dynamic relationship.
Attaf also emphasized the significant progress in political consultation and economic cooperation, marking a steady and visible improvement in bilateral relations. He reiterated Algeria’s commitment to fulfilling the agreements made by the leaders of both countries, indicating that steps have already been taken to implement these agreements.
The Algerian Foreign Minister’s visit to China and his discussions with Wang Wenbin reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand the strategic partnership between Algeria and China, focusing on mutual benefits and enhanced cooperation across various sectors.
