Algeria Confronts the Zionist Entity’s Expansionist Plans: Calls on OIC States for a Unified and Decisive Stance

Algiers, Algeria | In an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Jeddah, Algeria issued a forceful call for unity against the Zionist entity’s criminal schemes, which aim at the total eradication of the Palestinian national project and the reconfiguration of borders across the Middle East.
Speaking on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf underscored that these Zionist strategies—now openly declared by Zionist officials under the guise of the “Greater Israel” project—represent not only a mortal threat to Palestine, but also to the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the entire region.
Zionist Plots Exposed
“The masks have fallen,” Attaf declared. “The Zionist entity no longer conceals its expansionist ambitions. It proclaims them openly—its obsession is to obliterate the Palestinian cause, demolish the two-state solution, and impose new regional borders through force, occupation, and displacement.”
The Algerian minister made clear that this is no longer a time for cautious diplomacy or vague condemnations. Rather, the OIC and the broader international community must shoulder their responsibilities, elevating words into concrete action, including international sanctions, to halt the genocidal war against Gaza and prevent the normalization of Zionist aggression.
Gaza as an Integral Part of Palestine
Attaf stressed that Gaza is not a bargaining chip in the aftermath of the Zionist entity’s brutal assault, but “an inseparable part of the Palestinian state.” He rejected all attempts to subject the enclave once again to occupation or population displacement, emphasizing that the reconstruction of Gaza must be guided by its recognition as Palestinian land, sovereign and indivisible.
A Collective Duty
“The threats before us are existential,” Attaf told OIC member states. “It is our collective duty—moral, political, and historical—to rise to the level of the legendary resilience of our brothers in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon. The time for hesitation has ended. We must forge a united position, in both word and deed, commensurate with the dangers we face.”
He further underlined Algeria’s solidarity with Egypt and Jordan, countries directly threatened by the Zionist entity’s expansionist agenda, and called for an urgent and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
For Algeria, the Palestinian cause is not only a regional struggle but a universal moral test. By demanding sanctions and concrete deterrent measures against the Zionist entity, Algeria is pressing the international community to uphold international law, to block forced displacement, and to safeguard the path toward the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
