Algeria Delivers Nearly 95,000 Housing Units Nationwide as the State Accelerates President Tebboune’s Social Commitments

Algiers – November 2025 – In a display of political will and social responsibility, Algeria has initiated the distribution of nearly 95,000 housing units across the national territory, coinciding with the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the Liberation Revolution—an emblematic date chosen to link national memory with social justice. According to the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning, the City and Territorial Development, a total of 94,781 homes have already been handed over to their beneficiaries, representing 65.54% of the special national programme dedicated to this occasion, which comprises 144,601 units.
This unprecedented operation, one of the largest simultaneous housing distributions in recent years, reflects the firm orientations of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who has consistently elevated housing to the rank of a national priority and a cornerstone of social stability. As the operation continues in the coming days, authorities aim to complete the total quota, demonstrating a rapid execution pace energized by local-level mobilization.
Across several wilayas, performance indicators point to remarkable progress. Adrar delivered 2,603 units, Béchar 2,153 units, and Djelfa as many as 7,648 units—showing rates nearing full completion. Sidi Bel Abbès, with 3,263 homes distributed, reached a 96% completion rate. Other regions also posted strong results: Mostaganem at 63%, Bordj Bou Arreridj at 92%, and Khenchela at 93%. These figures illustrate the State’s determination to address housing needs swiftly while reducing structural delays that had accumulated in previous years.
To maintain momentum, executive authorities have intensified field visits and coordination missions across multiple wilayas, including Bécha r, Khenchela, Béjaïa, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Laghouat, El Oued, Oum El Bouaghi, Tissemsilt, Tiaret, Mascara, M’sila, Tizi Ouzou, Djanet and Skikda. These inspections ensure rigorous monitoring of construction sites, timely problem-solving, and strict adherence to delivery deadlines. The Ministry has repeatedly emphasized the necessity of eliminating administrative bottlenecks, in line with the President’s directives to avoid any unjustified delays.
This massive national distribution aligns with President Tebboune’s broader strategic vision, which enshrines access to decent housing as a fundamental right and a core obligation of the State. Since assuming office, the President has launched structural reforms to modernize the housing sector, prioritizing the completion of existing programmes—AADL, LPA, social housing and public promotional units—and ensuring the equitable development of rural and urban areas alike. The new 2024–2027 national programme further seeks to reduce regional disparities and reinforce local development.
Each meeting of the Council of Ministers has reaffirmed President Tebboune’s insistence on tangible, measurable improvements in one of the country’s most sensitive public services. By choosing November 1 as the symbolic starting point for this large-scale operation, the State conveys a clear message: that building Algeria today is the most faithful tribute to those who sacrificed for the nation’s freedom.
