Algeria, Egypt Strengthen Investment Ties: AAPI, Cairo Commit to Deepening Economic Cooperation

Algiers – November 2025 – The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, received on Monday the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Algeria, Abdel Latif Abdel Salam Abdo Al-Layeh, to discuss concrete mechanisms for strengthening bilateral cooperation and partnership in the field of investment. The meeting, according to an official statement from the agency, marked a new step in consolidating economic relations between two nations united by long-standing historical and fraternal ties.
Discussions centered on identifying ways to boost joint initiatives aimed at expanding investment opportunities and creating a favorable environment for sustainable economic growth. The two sides explored the organization of joint economic events — including business forums and partnership meetings — designed to foster exchanges between Algerian and Egyptian enterprises and to strengthen institutional cooperation in sectors of mutual interest.
Both parties underscored the vast potential for partnership and investment that characterizes the economic landscapes of Algeria and Egypt. From industry and energy to infrastructure, agriculture, and services, the two countries share complementary assets that can yield mutually beneficial outcomes when combined within a strategic framework of cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Abdel Latif Abdel Salam Abdo Al-Layeh expressed his country’s keen interest in deepening economic ties with Algeria, emphasizing the growing enthusiasm among Egyptian companies eager to invest in the Algerian market. He commended Algeria’s improving business climate and the comprehensive reforms undertaken in the investment sector, describing them as clear indicators of the government’s commitment to transparency, competitiveness, and economic diversification.
For his part, Omar Rekkache reaffirmed AAPI’s full readiness to facilitate and accompany Egyptian investors throughout the investment process, providing them with the necessary assistance and guidance to ensure the successful realization of their projects in Algeria. He highlighted that the agency remains open to all forms of collaboration that could reinforce economic integration and shared prosperity between the two nations.
