Algiers – October 2025 – In a high-level diplomatic and cultural exchange, the Rector of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, Cheikh Mohamed Maâmoun Al Kacimi Al Hassani, welcomed the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Anis Matta, along with his accompanying delegation, in a meeting aimed at reinforcing cultural and religious cooperation between the two fraternal nations.
Held on Thursday, the discussions focused on deepening the strategic partnership in fields that encompass both educational and religious collaboration. Cheikh Al Hoceini emphasized the enduring “depth of fraternal ties” linking Algeria and Indonesia, asserting that their relationship transcends mere friendship to embody a unifying Islamic fraternity.
Highlighting Djamaâ El-Djazaïr’s civilizational mission as a “beacon of knowledge and a guarantor of unifying religious reference,” the rector expressed a clear vision to strengthen institutional ties with Indonesia’s leading scientific and educational centers. This initiative aims to establish channels for academic collaboration and knowledge exchange, particularly through scholarship programs facilitating student mobility between the two nations.
Vice-Minister Matta lauded Djamaâ El-Djazaïr as a “unique Islamic monument,” underscoring Indonesia’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with Algeria across multiple domains, including education, cultural exchange, and religious dialogue.
As part of the visit, the Indonesian delegation toured the various institutions under Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, receiving detailed briefings on their missions, operational structures, and the complementary nature of their educational and religious outreach.
