Algiers, Algeria | In an unequivocal and forceful statement, Algeria has condemned in the strongest terms and categorically rejected the Zionist entity’s plan to militarily reoccupy the Gaza Strip — a scheme it warns would mortgage the future of Gaza, the Palestinian state, and peace across the Middle East.

On the eve of the UN Security Council’s emergency meeting to deliberate on this latest escalation, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs denounced the occupation power’s persistence in defying international law, sabotaging diplomatic initiatives, and perpetuating a genocidal war that has claimed countless Palestinian lives for nearly two years.

Citing the recent International Conference on the Two-State Solution — where the global community reaffirmed that this framework remains the sole viable path to a just and lasting peace — Algeria decried the occupier’s brazen contempt for the collective will of nations. The planned reoccupation of Gaza and the forced displacement of its population, the statement stressed, amount to an assault not only on Palestinian sovereignty but on the very principles underpinning the international order.

Reaffirming its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, Algeria reiterated that the Gaza Strip is an inseparable, authentic part of the occupied Palestinian territories and an integral component of the State of Palestine as recognized by international legitimacy. It called on the international community, and in particular the UN Security Council, to assume their moral and legal responsibilities by halting these expansionist plans and ending the ongoing war crimes committed against the Palestinian people.

The statement underscored two urgent priorities: addressing the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in Gaza and advancing, without delay, the establishment of an independent, sovereign State of Palestine with Al-Quds as its eternal capital. Algeria stressed that this is an inalienable, non-negotiable, and historic imperative — a cornerstone of justice that cannot be erased by force, coercion, or the language of arms.
