Algeria, Jordan Celebrate Historic Diplomatic High as El Amouch Bids Farewell

Algiers, Algeria | July 7th, 2025 — In a diplomatic moment underscoring the strength of Arab solidarity, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Algeria, Chaker Attallah El Amouch, declared on Monday that bilateral relations between Algeria and Jordan are currently at their “highest and most exemplary level”—and destined to remain so. The statement was made following his farewell audience with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at El Mouradia Palace, marking the end of El Amouch’s mission in Algiers.

“I had the honor of conveying to His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune the warm greetings and heartfelt wishes of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein for continued progress, prosperity, and stability to the brotherly people of Algeria,” said Ambassador El Amouch during his address to the press.

In a statement, the departing Jordanian envoy affirmed, “I can confidently state that Algerian–Jordanian relations are currently at their peak—rich with mutual respect, robust cooperation, and shared Arab values—and they shall remain steadfast and exemplary under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.”

The farewell audience took place in the presence of key figures from the Algerian Presidency, including Mr. Boualem Boualem, Director of the President’s Cabinet, and Mr. Amar Abba, Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs.

Relations between Algeria and Jordan have witnessed notable growth over the past years, particularly in the areas of political dialogue, economic cooperation, and coordination in regional and international forums. Both nations have consistently advocated for Arab unity, just causes such as Palestine, and multilateralism in a rapidly shifting global order.
