Algeria Launches “DZ Young Leaders” Program to Forge Next Generation of National Leaders
By Dr. Hana Saada

Oran — In a step toward cultivating the leadership potential of Algeria’s youth, the Ministry of Youth, under Minister Mustapha Hidaoui, in coordination with the President’s Advisor for Political Affairs and Relations with Youth, Civil Society, and Political Parties, Mustapha Saïdj, officially inaugurated the “DZ Young Leaders” program. The launch ceremony took place at the Mohamed Ben Ahmed Conference Center within the Le Méridien Hotel in Oran, gathering a robust delegation of government officials alongside nearly 1,000 young participants representing projects across Algeria’s regions.

The initiative aims to train, mentor, and empower a new generation of leaders, providing them with the tools and frameworks necessary to contribute strategically to national and international affairs. Each participating youth represents a project led by a team of approximately ten individuals, underscoring the collaborative and practical approach central to the program’s methodology.

Structured over a three-day inaugural event, the program’s agenda combines interactive learning with reflective sessions. Activities commenced with an opening session, followed by a thematic roundtable entitled “Youth and Shaping the Future,” which focused on avenues for youth engagement in policy-making and leadership roles at both national and global levels. The day further featured intensive workshops on personal strategic planning, problem-solving techniques, and the development of a robust leadership identity, equipping participants with essential competencies to navigate complex challenges.

The evening concluded with an interactive session dedicated to the exchange of experiences, mentorship opportunities, and networking among young project leaders, reinforcing a culture of peer learning and collaborative growth.

Conceived as a year-long, nationally structured initiative, the “DZ Young Leaders” program integrates theoretical instruction with practical application, ensuring a sustained developmental trajectory. It is designed to cultivate leaders capable of addressing future challenges, advancing national priorities, and contributing meaningfully to Algeria’s socio-economic and political landscape.
