Algeria Launches E-Payment Platform for International Students, Elevating Academic Accessibility

Algeria has inaugurated a digital payment service for international students, marking a decisive step in modernizing the country’s higher education administration. The launch, overseen by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamel Baddari, took place at the Chahid Abdelhafid Ihaddaden Scientific and Technological Hub in Sidi Abdellah, signaling the nation’s commitment to streamlining academic processes for foreign students.
The ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including the delegated governor of Sidi Abdellah, representatives from the Bank of Local Development (BDL), and members of the inaugural cohort of the “Study in Algeria” program, comprising students from 48 different nationalities. This diverse assembly underscored Algeria’s strategic emphasis on attracting global talent and fostering a multicultural academic environment.
The newly implemented platform enables international students to complete all registration and administrative fee transactions digitally, with operations finalized in seconds via a single, secure click. By ensuring transparency, speed, and operational efficiency, the system addresses longstanding administrative bottlenecks and aligns with international standards of higher education service delivery.
Minister Baddari highlighted that the initiative represents more than technological modernization; it embodies a broader strategic vision of transforming Algerian universities into globally accessible, digitally integrated institutions. “Our objective is to create an environment where international students experience seamless enrollment and administrative processes, reflecting Algeria’s commitment to educational excellence and international collaboration,” he noted.
