Algeria Launches Online Fuel Tax Payment for Land Travelers via “Tabioucom” Platform

Algiers, Algeria |  The Algerian Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) has unveiled a new digital service enabling travelers crossing Algeria’s land borders to pay their fuel consumption tax electronically through the government’s “Tabioucom” online platform.

This innovation allows motorists to complete the payment process remotely, obtain an official electronic receipt, and bypass in-person visits to tax offices. Accessible around the clock at https://tabioucom.mf.gov.dz, the platform supports payments via both Interbank Cards (CIB) and Algeria Post’s Edahabia cards.

Under the new system, tax rates are set at 500 DZD for passenger cars, 3,500 DZD for utility vehicles and trucks under ten tonnes, and 12,000 DZD for trucks of ten tonnes or more, as well as for buses. Upon arrival at border posts and checkpoints, customs officers will authenticate and validate the electronic receipts through the same platform.

Beyond fuel taxes, “Tabioucom” also facilitates online payment for transport ticket duties. The DGI encourages all travelers to consult the public portal for detailed guidance, signaling a major step forward in Algeria’s push toward e-governance and streamlined cross-border procedures.
