Algeria-Mauritania: Presidents Tebboune, Ghazaouani Launch 3 Strategic Projects

ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazaouani, in Tindouf on Thursday, where they visited the sites of three strategic projects aimed at strengthening relations between Algeria and Mauritania.

President Tebboune, accompanied by his Mauritanian counterpart, first inaugurated two fixed border crossings between the two countries.

The two Presidents also jointly launched a road project to connect the province of Tindouf to Zouérat. Additionally, they laid the foundation stone for the construction of a free zone in Tindouf.

The free zone, located 75 km from the capital of Tindouf, covers an area of 200 hectares.

This free zone is considered a link between Algeria and West African countries through the Chahid Mustapha Ben Boulaid border crossing.

In addition to exhibition spaces, the free zone will host various companies and economic operators, and will also feature various service and logistics facilities such as hotels, restaurants, and transportation.
