Addressing the International Seminar on the Algerian Revolution in its African Dimension, which was inaugurated by Abdelhamid Ahmed Khodja, the Inspector General at the Ministry, Attaf reinforced Algeria’s profound dedication to its African heritage. He articulated the nation’s unwavering support for just causes across the continent, envisioning a comprehensive and integrated renaissance that would elevate Africa to a prominent global stature and establish it as a pivotal international actor.
Attaf highlighted Algeria’s steadfast allegiance to its revolutionary roots, reflecting on President Tebboune’s focus on honoring the memory of Algeria’s struggle for independence. This emphasis on preserving the revolutionary legacy underscores Algeria’s deep appreciation for its supporters both within Africa and beyond, celebrating the righteousness of the Algerian cause and its anticipated victory.
He emphasized that the Algerian Revolution’s global impact stemmed from its humanitarian principles, advocating universal values and ideals such as the right to life, the rejection of racism, and the right of peoples to self-determination. Attaf particularly stressed the importance of supporting the Sahrawi people’s quest for self-determination, framing it as a critical component of the broader fight against colonialism and oppressive occupation. He urged for solidarity from all freedom-loving individuals and nations to champion the Sahrawi cause, viewing it as essential to closing a painful chapter of colonial exploitation in Africa.
Further expanding on the theme of solidarity, Attaf addressed the plight of the Palestinian people, who endure what he described as a genocidal occupation. He called upon the African continent and all proponents of freedom, dignity, and justice to support the Palestinian struggle for an independent and sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital. This call for solidarity underscores a shared commitment to fundamental human rights and justice.
In concluding his remarks, Attaf reaffirmed Algeria’s dedication to a unified continental approach to address the myriad challenges threatening African security and stability. He underscored Algeria’s resolve to confront these challenges and advance the continent’s development goals through collective effort and steadfast support for African unity.
