“Algeria firmly believes that the spiral of violence ignited by successive Zionist offensives cannot be tolerated,” Attaf stated, underlining the urgent need for the United Nations Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities. He called upon the Council to enforce international legal norms, deter further Zionist violations, and work collectively to de-escalate tensions threatening the broader Middle East.

The Algerian government, long regarded as a staunch advocate for peace, non-alignment, and sovereign rights in the Global South, views the recent Zionist aggression not only as an attack on Iran but as part of a broader campaign destabilizing the region—from Gaza and Lebanon to Syria and beyond.
