Algeria Showcases Investment Leadership at FITA 2025: AAPI Director General Omar Rekkache Honored in Tunisia

At the “Financing Investment and Trade in Africa” (FITA 2025) conference in Tunis, Algeria reaffirmed its continental role in driving economic integration and investment transformation, as AAPI’s Director General Omar Rekkache engaged in strategic talks and received distinguished recognition.

Algiers, Algeria | May 7th, 2025 —  Demonstrating Algeria’s growing leadership in shaping Africa’s economic future, Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), actively participated in the 8th edition of the International Conference on “Financing Investment and Trade in Africa” (FITA 2025), held on May 6–7, 2025, in the Tunisian capital.

Organized by the Tunisian-African Business Council (TABAC), this high-level gathering brought together representatives from over 70 countries, more than 100 financial institutions, and 150 prominent speakers, all united under the banner: “Accelerating Africa’s Transformation.” The conference aimed to foster intra-African cooperation and explore actionable strategies for advancing the continent’s economic integration.

On the sidelines of the summit, Mr. Rekkache held several B2B and B2G meetings with key economic actors and public institutions, facilitating discussions on mutually beneficial partnerships. One of the focal points was Algeria’s preparations for hosting the Mini Investment Forum, scheduled to take place during the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), to be held in Algiers from September 4 to 10, 2025.

As part of his agenda, the AAPI Director General also engaged in in-depth talks with the heads of African investment promotion agencies. These consultations centered on aligning strategic goals ahead of IATF 2025 and exploring synergies for long-term intercontinental collaboration.

In another notable bilateral meeting, Mr. Rekkache met with Mr. Habib Hammami, President of the Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who was accompanied by a delegation of prominent Tunisian business leaders. Discussions highlighted Algeria’s evolving investment climate, its ambitious economic reforms, and future opportunities for Tunisian-Algerian business ventures.

In recognition of his pivotal role and Algeria’s dynamic presence at the event, Mr. Omar Rekkache was honored by the organizers on behalf of the Algerian delegation. The award was presented by Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, underscoring the high regard for Algeria’s efforts in promoting African economic cooperation.
