Algeria, Slovenia Seek Stronger Partnership in Economy, Trade, and Investment

Algiers – September 2025 – Algeria and Slovenia reaffirmed on Wednesday their shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across the strategic domains of economy, trade, and investment, while strengthening dialogue on humanitarian and development-related issues.
The announcement came following a working meeting in Algiers between Bakhta Selma Mansouri, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, and Mojca Seliskar Tos, Adviser to the Slovenian Prime Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid. According to a communiqué issued by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides reviewed the current state of bilateral ties and outlined new avenues for expanding collaboration in key sectors.
The discussions built upon the momentum generated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s state visit to Slovenia in May, a landmark event which injected fresh dynamism into Algerian-Slovenian relations. Both sides praised the outcomes of that visit, underlining its pivotal role in enhancing political consultation and coordination on regional and international matters of shared concern.
The meeting also highlighted Algeria’s appreciation for Slovenia’s principled stances on global justice issues, particularly its unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Slovenia’s advocacy for peace, security, and solidarity at both regional and international levels was welcomed as a reflection of shared values binding the two nations.
