Algiers, Algeria |  Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui received on Sunday, at the Government Palace, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, who is on an official visit to Algiers.

According to a communiqué from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Somali diplomat conveyed to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune the “warm greetings and deep esteem” of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, reaffirming his country’s commitment to advancing cooperation with Algeria.

The discussions centered on broadening bilateral ties, with a shared emphasis on peace, security, and sustainable development. Both sides reiterated their determination to coordinate efforts within the Arab and African frameworks, fostering a united stance against emerging threats and reinforcing regional solidarity.

Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali also briefed Prime Minister Larbaoui on Somalia’s ongoing efforts to restore stability and security within its borders, while outlining the current geopolitical and humanitarian situation in the Horn of Africa — a region facing a complex interplay of armed insurgencies, maritime security challenges, and climate-induced pressures.
