Algeria Strengthens Youth Diplomacy: Minister Hidaoui Meets President of the ICYF at Global Youth Summit

Algiers, Algeria | In Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation), Algeria reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to empowering the youth and shaping them into actors of global change. On the sidelines of the World Youth Summit 2025, Mustapha Hidaoui, Minister of Youth and head of the High Council of Youth (CSJ), held a bilateral meeting with Taha Ahya, President of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF).
According to a communiqué released by the Ministry, both parties emphasized the need to consolidate cooperation through joint initiatives and tailored programs designed to bolster youth empowerment, capacity building, and leadership skills. The meeting also reaffirmed their shared support for the Palestinian cause, situating youth advocacy within a broader context of justice and solidarity.
Algeria’s Strategic Vision for Youth
Minister Hidaoui highlighted that Algeria’s vision for youth development is rooted in the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who consistently underlines the role of young people as a driving force of the future, not only within national frameworks but also across multilateral and international cooperation platforms.
“Empowering youth is at the heart of Algeria’s national strategy and diplomatic engagement,” Hidaoui stressed. “Our participation in platforms such as the Kazan Global Youth Summit is a testament to Algeria’s determination to make youth a bridge of dialogue between nations and a cornerstone of a more just and equitable world order.”
The meeting shed light on the importance of sustained coordination to enhance youth innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership in various sectors, thereby enabling young generations to play a decisive role in sustainable development, technological transformation, and global governance.
For Algeria, the Summit represents more than a diplomatic gathering; it is a platform to align with multilateral partners including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the BRICS bloc, and the Asia-Pacific region. This positions Algeria as a proactive actor in strengthening youth-led solutions to shared challenges such as climate change, economic resilience, and global solidarity.
