Omar Rekkache: Algeria Set to Transform 175 Partnership Intentions into Binding Contracts at IATF 2025

Algiers – September 2025 – Algeria is preparing to seal a significant wave of investment and trade deals during the 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), scheduled to take place from September 4 to 10 in Algiers. The country is positioning itself not only as a host but as an emerging continental hub for investment and trade.
Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, revealed that 175 partnership intentions are currently under negotiation between Algerian and foreign operators, and are expected to be transformed into binding contracts during the high-profile event. “These agreements span across several strategic economic sectors and will also examine foreign financing proposals for projects on Algerian soil,” Rekkache emphasized in a statement to Algeria Press Service (APS). He underscored that such transformations will consolidate Algeria’s standing as a magnet for investment and a key player within the African economic landscape.
The upcoming contracts are expected to generate immediate effects on capital flows, diversification of investments, and the consolidation of intra-African partnerships under the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). “Unlike previous editions, this year’s Fair will stand out both for the scale of international participation and for Algeria’s strategic role as host country,” Rekkache noted.
In parallel with the Fair, Algeria will host an Investment and Trade Forum on Thursday at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center, under the theme “Algeria: An Emerging Platform for Investment and Trade in Africa.” The forum will tackle major themes including the business climate, ongoing reforms to attract capital, promising industrial sectors, and opportunities for integration into regional and global value chains.
On Friday, the Exhibition Palace in Algiers will welcome a mini-summit of African Investment Promotion Agencies, organized in partnership with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and supported by the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA). More than 30 agencies, financial institutions, and international experts are expected to attend. Discussions will center on reinforcing African investment frameworks, developing new digital and financial solutions, and enhancing the operational capacities of agencies in evaluating and guiding projects towards viability and quality.
Particular attention will be paid to innovation, digital transformation, and the integration of African investments into global value chains. The summit also aims to foster cooperation through exchanges of expertise and best practices, bolstering the efficiency of African agencies in building robust, forward-looking economies.
Beyond institutional meetings, the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency will be present at the Algerian pavilion of the IATF to highlight the country’s investment climate, available financing mechanisms, and business opportunities, thereby strengthening Algeria’s appeal to foreign capital while deepening continental partnerships.
With the imminent conversion of 175 partnership intentions into contractual commitments, Algeria is not merely hosting the IATF—it is positioning itself as the beating heart of a new African investment dynamic, where ambition is translated into concrete results and regional integration takes tangible form.
