Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya Reinforce Strategic Coordination at Doha Tripartite Meeting

Algiers – September 2025 – On the sidelines of the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya convened a high-level tripartite meeting on Monday, reaffirming their shared determination to strengthen coordination and advance joint action across the Maghreb and Arab spheres.
The meeting brought together Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs; Mohamed Ali Nafti, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad; and Taher Al-Baour, Minister entrusted with the management of Libya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to a communiqué issued by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the session was devoted to assessing progress in the implementation of the conclusions adopted during the most recent summit of the three countries’ leaders.
This Doha encounter carried both symbolic and strategic weight. It underscored not only the continuity of the tripartite framework launched by the Maghreb neighbors but also their resolve to respond collectively to pressing regional challenges. The three ministers reviewed advances in consolidating cooperation on key dossiers, ranging from political dialogue and security coordination to economic integration and the management of transboundary issues.
Beyond bilateral and trilateral concerns, the meeting provided a crucial platform for concertation on Arab and Maghreb developments at a moment of acute turbulence in the region. The ministers exchanged views on the latest regional crises, including the escalation of threats undermining stability in the Middle East and North Africa, and the need for unified positions within Arab and Islamic forums.
