Algeria, Vietnam Strengthen Diplomatic Ties During the 4th Session of Political Consultations

Algiers – October 2025 – In a renewed demonstration of their longstanding friendship and shared diplomatic vision, Algeria and Vietnam have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation during the 4th session of Algerian-Vietnamese political consultations, held on Monday in Hanoi. The session was co-chaired by the Secretary-General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, reflecting the two nations’ mutual will to consolidate their strategic dialogue and strengthen their multidimensional partnership.
The meeting provided a platform for both sides to conduct a comprehensive review of the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations. Discussions focused on identifying practical mechanisms to enhance cooperation across political, economic, and developmental fields, in alignment with the shared aspirations of Algiers and Hanoi to elevate their relations to a new level of strategic coordination.
Both delegations reaffirmed their readiness to expand collaboration in key sectors of mutual interest, drawing upon their historical ties rooted in solidarity and mutual respect. The session also served as an opportunity to assess the progress of joint projects and to explore new avenues for partnership, particularly in trade, investment, and technological exchange.
The consultations further addressed the preparations for upcoming bilateral milestones, emphasizing the importance of maintaining regular high-level exchanges and institutional dialogue as essential tools for advancing cooperation. This includes the organization of future joint commission meetings and the strengthening of intergovernmental frameworks that foster sustainable collaboration.
Beyond bilateral issues, the two sides also engaged in a broad exchange of views on pressing regional and international developments. Both Algeria and Vietnam underscored their converging positions on major global issues, reaffirming their shared commitment to the principles of sovereignty, non-interference, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. They also highlighted the necessity of reinforcing multilateralism and promoting dialogue within international forums to confront global challenges such as climate change, food security, and sustainable development.
