Algiers, Algeria | January 13th, 2025 — On Monday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in his capacity as the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, presides over a Cabinet meeting that focuses on a draft law regarding social security and various measures in preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the meeting includes detailed discussions on a legislative proposal concerning social insurance, aimed at strengthening the social safety net and ensuring broader access to essential benefits for Algerian citizens. In addition to this, several other important topics are addressed, including enhancing trade union activities and fostering social dialogue to improve the overall work environment.
Another key point on the agenda is the government’s preparations for Ramadan, with measures designed to ensure public readiness and address potential challenges that may arise during the holy month. These provisions are aimed at safeguarding the well-being of Algerian citizens during this period, with a particular focus on food security, retail management, and social support.
