Algerian Communication Minister Pays Tribute to Late Abdelkader Brahimi

Algiers – December 2025 – The Minister of Communication, Zoheir Bouamama, extended his heartfelt condolences on Saturday following the passing of former Director General of Algerian Television, the moudjahid and diplomat Abdelkader Brahimi, who died at the age of 93.
In his message, Minister Bouamama addressed his condolences to the family of the deceased, as well as to his colleagues and the wider media community. He paid tribute to the late Abdelkader Brahimi’s distinguished career and his enduring contributions to national media and public service, recalling his legacy as both a committed freedom fighter and a seasoned diplomat who served Algeria with dedication and integrity.
“In this painful ordeal,” the Minister expressed his “sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and to the entire media profession,” assuring them of his full compassion and solidarity in their time of grief. He further prayed that Almighty Allah grant the late Abdelkader Brahimi His infinite mercy and bestow patience and comfort upon his family, relatives, and loved ones.
Abdelkader Brahimi is remembered as a prominent figure in Algerian media history, whose leadership at the helm of Algerian Television and whose national engagement left a lasting imprint on the country’s audiovisual landscape and institutional memory.
