Algerian Defense Ministry Announces Arrest of Two Terrorists

ALGIERS- The Ministry of National Defense (MDN) revealed on Wednesday the outcomes of the activities conducted by the People’s National Army (ANP) units during the period from December 20 to December 26, according to an official statement.

As part of the ongoing fight against terrorism, the MDN reported the arrest of two terrorists by an ANP unit in Bordj Badji Mokhtar. The individuals, identified as M. Salek alias Mouloud and N. Sid Ali alias Mouadh, were involved in terrorist groups abroad, as stated by the same source.

Additionally, during a sweeping operation in the Bouira province, ANP units discovered eight hideouts used by terrorists, containing explosive materials. Simultaneously, a person providing support to terrorist groups was apprehended in Mostaganem during the same period.

In the realm of combating **Subtitle: Successful Operations in Anti-Terrorism and Counter-Drug Efforts, the MDN announced the successful arrest of 26 drug traffickers and the prevention of attempts to smuggle 7 quintals and 22 kg of treated Hashish through the borders with Morocco. This accomplishment was complemented by the seizure of 65,005 psychotropic tablets.
