Algerian Minister of Higher Education Honors National Talents Excelling in Artificial Intelligence and International Studies

Algiers – September 2025 – In a ceremony marked by pride in national talent, Kamel Baddari, Algeria’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, welcomed three exceptional students on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the ministry headquarters, celebrating their outstanding achievements in innovation and academia on the international stage.
The minister received students Aymene Hamidi and Abderraouf Aroua, founders of the startup Qabas, a pioneering company in artificial intelligence solutions. Their enterprise has secured a position among the top 25 global deep tech startups and is set to participate in the prestigious Sber500 AI Startup Competition in Moscow. Their work will also be showcased at the Moscow Startup Summit, which attracts thousands of investors and entrepreneurs worldwide, highlighting Algeria’s growing footprint in cutting-edge technology and innovation.
On the same day, Minister Baddari honored Raounek Zani, an outstanding student preparing to join Aston University in the United Kingdom on a distinguished scholarship to pursue her studies in artificial intelligence. Zani, the top national performer in the Algerian baccalaureate, also received complimentary IELTS testing from the British Cultural Center in recognition of her remarkable achievements.
Minister Baddari expressed profound pride in the three students, emphasizing that their success reflects Algeria’s commitment to nurturing its youth and empowering them to make a global impact in research and innovation. The students’ accomplishments serve as a testament to Algerian universities as dynamic incubators for entrepreneurial ideas capable of reaching international acclaim.
Zani, honored with a special university medal and personally recognized by the Dean of the University of Algiers, shared her gratitude on social media:
