Algerian Presidency Pays Tribute to Former EPTV Director-General Zoubir Zemzoum

Algeria’s Presidency has issued an official message of condolence following the passing of Zoubir Zemzoum, former Director-General of the Algerian Public Television Establishment, honoring his legacy as a prominent figure in the national media landscape.
In a statement released by the Directorate-General of Communication at the Presidency of the Republic, authorities conveyed their “sincere condolences and deepest sympathy” to the family of the deceased, as well as to journalists and staff across the public television institution he once led.
The Presidency paid particular tribute to his leadership during one of the most challenging periods in the country’s modern history, recalling his role at the helm of national television amid Algeria’s struggle against terrorism. During that critical juncture, Zemzoum was described as one of the defining media figures entrusted with safeguarding the continuity of public broadcasting and reinforcing national cohesion.
By steering the public broadcaster through a climate marked by instability and security threats, he contributed to maintaining a unified national narrative at a time when institutional resilience was under severe strain. His stewardship is remembered as part of a broader collective effort that enabled the nation to endure and uphold its foundational values.
Concluding its message, the Presidency invoked a solemn tribute, praying for divine mercy upon the deceased and extending wishes of strength and patience to his family and colleagues in the face of their loss.
