Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune Appoints Nine Advisors to Bolster Governance

Algiers, October 12, 2023 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria has taken a significant stride in reinforcing the governance structure of the nation by appointing nine key advisors. These appointments encompass a wide array of sectors, reflecting his commitment to comprehensive development and robust decision-making. The inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday in Algiers, signifying a momentous step forward for the Algerian government.

In a bid to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the executive branch, President Tebboune has strategically selected advisors whose expertise covers various fields, including legal affairs, defense and security, political affairs, finance, energy, trade, education, culture, human rights, and communication.

The newly appointed advisors, who were officially sworn in during the ceremony, are as follows:

1. Boualem Boualem – Responsible for Legal Affairs, Judicial Affairs, Relations with Institutions, Investigations, and Authorizations.
2. Boumediene Benattou – Responsible for Affairs related to Defense and Security.
3. Mohamed Chafik Mesbah – Responsible for Political Affairs and Relations with Youth, Civil Society, and Political Parties.
4. Mohamed Boukhari – Responsible for Finances, Banks, Budget, Foreign Exchange Reserves, Public Markets, and International Regulations.
5. Amine Mazouzi – Responsible for Energy, Mines, and the Environment.
6. Kamel Rezig – Responsible for Trade, Supply, Control, and Import-Export.
7. Mohamed Seghir Saâdaoui – Responsible for Education, Higher Education, Professional Training, Culture, Religious Affairs, and Zaouïas.
8. Hamid Lounaouci – Responsible for Non-Governmental Organizations and Human Rights.
9. Kamel Sidi Said – In Charge of the General Directorate of Communication.
