Algerian Red Crescent Extends Support to Palestinian Students Amidst Ongoing Aggression

ALGIERS- In a ceremony held in Algiers, the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) announced the initiation of a donation campaign benefiting dozens of Palestinian students in the province of Algiers. This initiative, symbolizing Algeria’s steadfast support, aims to address the needs of students whose families are directly affected by the Zionist aggression against Gaza. The campaign, not constrained by a specific timeframe, will kick off with the delivery of substantial food parcels, sanitary kits, first aid training, and prepaid mobile phone recharges amounting to 2,000 dinars.

Speaking on the occasion, CRA President Ibtissem Hamlaoui emphasized that this comprehensive aid for Palestinian brethren signifies unwavering support. She reminded that Algeria, having experienced the hardships of colonialism firsthand, understands the true cost of freedom. “The situation of Palestinian students following the Zionist aggression is challenging. Due to the telecommunication disruptions, they sometimes remain without news of their loved ones for several days,” she highlighted. The operation is viewed as a fraternal accompaniment and a moral duty. “The CRA will take care of all their concerns until the end of the aggression against Gaza. We have gathered a significant quantity of essential products ready to be dispatched to Palestine.”

In response, the representative of Palestinian students, Mohamed Abu Samek, expressed gratitude for the collaboration with CRA in organizing such a meaningful operation. He noted that Algeria, both its government and people, has consistently stood by Palestine.
