Algerian Red Crescent President Ibtissem Hamlaoui Launches Major Back-to-School Solidarity Campaign from Tissemsilt

Algiers, Algeria | In a gesture that underscores Algeria’s enduring values of solidarity and social cohesion, Dr. Ibtissem Hamlaoui, President of the Algerian Red Crescent, officially launched in Tissemsilt the Grand National Solidarity Campaign for the Back-to-School Season.

 

The event, held in partnership with Mobilis and Sonelgaz, was attended by the Wali of Tissemsilt, Mr. Fathi Bouzaid, the President of the People’s Provincial Assembly, local authorities, and the security committee. Together, they presided over the symbolic commencement of a nationwide initiative designed to ease the burden on families in need at the start of the academic year.

 

In Tissemsilt alone, 2,000 fully equipped school bags were distributed to eligible families. This operation forms part of a broader national program that will see the distribution of 120,000 school bags, smocks, and various forms of assistance to vulnerable households across Algeria’s provinces.

 

Dr. Hamlaoui emphasized that the campaign is more than a charitable act—it is a reaffirmation of the country’s deep-rooted commitment to mutual aid and the principle that “everything we do comes from the heart.” She highlighted the vital role of collective responsibility in ensuring that no child is left behind due to financial hardship, particularly at such a crucial moment in their educational journey.
