Algiers, Algeria | June 13th, 2025 — The Council of the Nation, Algeria’s upper house of Parliament, presided over by Speaker Azouz Nasri, has issued a sharply-worded condemnation of the recent aggression perpetrated by the Zionist entity against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Speaker Nasri drew a direct line between this latest assault and the ongoing genocidal campaign waged by the Zionist entity in Gaza, which has persisted for over twenty months. “The Zionist entity continues to act in utter defiance of international law, committing unspeakable crimes against the Palestinian people while enjoying shameful impunity,” he declared.

The Council denounced “the Zionist colonial project”—a project that extends beyond Palestine and now openly targets other sovereign nations like Iran, threatening to plunge the entire region into chaos.

The statement further urged the international community, and particularly global parliaments, to “rise to the challenge of confronting the barbaric policies of the Zionist entity,” warning that failure to do so risks catastrophic consequences for international peace and stability.

“The world can no longer afford silence or complicity,” Speaker Nasri warned. “Parliaments across the globe must take firm action to halt the Zionist entity’s war crimes, dismantle its machinery of impunity, and defend the rights of nations to exist in peace.”

In conclusion, the Council of the Nation reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering solidarity with the peoples of Palestine, Iran, and all nations resisting aggression and foreign domination. It called for a unified stand against the Zionist entity’s escalation of violence, which it said must be firmly rejected by the collective conscience of humanity.
