Algiers, Algeria | November 11th, 2024 — Djillali Liabes University in Sidi Bel Abbès has earned distinguished recognition, achieving the highest ranking in both the Maghreb and Africa in the 2024 Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. This achievement, announced by Algeria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, underscores the university’s exceptional standing in several critical academic fields.

In civil engineering, Djillali Liabes University ranks among the top 201-300 institutions globally, reflecting its academic excellence and pioneering research in this essential discipline. The university also ranks impressively in material science and engineering, where it holds a place within the 401-500 range worldwide. Additionally, Djillali Liabes University leads the Maghreb and secures second place in Africa in mechanical engineering, positioned among the 301-400 best institutions globally.

The Ministry of Higher Education highlighted that this international recognition is a testament to the dedicated efforts of faculty, researchers, and staff at Djillali Liabes University, who have worked tirelessly to elevate the institution’s academic visibility and global ranking.
