Algeria’s Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab Takes Part in High-Level OPEC and OPEC+ Ministerial Meetings

Algiers, Algeria | May 27th, 2025 — Algeria’s Minister of State for Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, is participating this Tuesday in high-level ministerial meetings of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its extended alliance, OPEC+, via videoconference.

As part of this major diplomatic and economic event, Minister Arkab will take part in the 191st session of the OPEC Conference, a key gathering that brings together energy ministers from member countries to deliberate on critical matters related to the international oil market.

In addition, Mr. Arkab will also participate in two further meetings held the same day: the 60th session of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) and the 39th Ministerial Meeting of OPEC and non-OPEC producing countries, commonly known as OPEC+.

The primary focus of these meetings is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the level of compliance among signatory countries with the production quotas agreed upon under the Declaration of Cooperation. Ministers will also assess the latest trends in the global oil market and analyze projections for the short-term future, as the industry continues to navigate a climate marked by volatile geopolitical developments and economic uncertainty.
