Algeria’s Ministry of Post Strengthens Anti-Corruption Mechanisms in Line with National Governance Reforms

Algiers – December 2025 – In a step toward consolidating integrity and good governance within the public sector, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention, and the Fight Against Corruption signed a framework agreement on Sunday. According to the Ministry’s communiqué, this accord aims to reinforce institutional cooperation through the development of specialized training programs for sector executives and the establishment of a comprehensive corruption-risk map for all institutions operating under the Ministry. The initiative represents a clear affirmation of Algeria’s commitment to implementing the national strategy for transparency and corruption prevention.
Addressing participants at the signing ceremony, Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sid Ali Zerrouki emphasized that the study day falls squarely within the vision and directives of the President of the Republic, who has repeatedly stressed the centrality of ethics in public life and the need to fortify integrity while combating all forms of corruption and favoritism. Zerrouki noted that the sector continues to work toward adopting the most effective national and international mechanisms in governance, highlighting several measures already enacted.
Among these efforts is the creation of a ministerial committee dedicated exclusively to corruption prevention and control, the introduction of an institutional framework targeting conflicts of interest, and the launch of a new electronic platform ensuring streamlined submission and fast processing of public requests. These steps, he stressed, reflect a tangible shift toward transparency and administrative efficiency.
The Minister further underscored the significance of “organizing the first digital recruitment competition within Algérie Poste, thereby consecrating the principle of equal opportunity,” alongside the development of a sector-wide code of conduct designed to embed values of integrity, professionalism, and responsibility among employees.
