The National Observatory for Civil Society, in coordination with the Algerian Red Crescent and under the patronage of Mobilis, spearheads a massive national initiative to promote voluntary blood donation and digital engagement.

Algiers, Algeria | June 14th, 2025 — In commemoration of World Blood Donor Day, observed annually on June 14, Algeria has officially launched the National Grand Blood Donation Campaign, a large-scale civic and humanitarian initiative aimed at boosting voluntary blood donations across the country. The campaign is organized by the National Observatory for Civil Society in collaboration with the Algerian Red Crescent and under the patronage of the mobile telecommunications operator Mobilis.

This nationwide effort marks a significant step toward enhancing public health responsiveness and fostering a culture of solidarity and civic duty among Algerians. The initiative seeks to address the growing demand for blood in hospitals and healthcare centers by encouraging citizens and civil society actors to become regular and responsible blood donors.

Coinciding with this campaign, the organizers have unveiled a new digital platform dedicated to blood donors. This platform will allow citizens and civil society organizations to register, coordinate, and follow up on blood donation activities in real-time. It is designed to facilitate communication between healthcare institutions and potential donors while providing up-to-date information on urgent needs and upcoming donation drives.

By combining on-the-ground mobilization with digital innovation, the campaign reflects a modern and sustainable approach to public engagement.
