Algiers – December 2025 – Algeria’s meteorological services forecast contrasting weather conditions across the country this Saturday, 13 December 2025. Northern regions will experience predominantly cloudy skies with occasional local rain, while the Southwest faces heavier rainfall and potential thunderstorms.
During the morning, dense low clouds and fog are expected over the interior regions, the High Plateaus, and the Aurès Mountains. These conditions will gradually give way to more general cloud cover, with sporadic local showers possible across the northern and central areas.
In the southern regions, skies will be heavily overcast over the Southwest, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and rain showers. Other southern areas will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy, though dense morning fog is anticipated over the oases, the northern Sahara, and Adrar, potentially reducing visibility and affecting local activity.
Authorities have issued a Level 2 (orange) rainfall alert for Naama, Bechar, and Béni Abbès from 3:00 AM on Saturday until 9:00 AM on Sunday, with expected rainfall between 20 and 40 mm, locally exceeding 50 mm. A similar Level 2 (orange) alert has been declared for Tindouf from 9:00 PM on Friday until 9:00 PM on Saturday, with expected precipitation of 20–30 mm.
Temperature ranges show significant regional variation. Morning readings will be between 10°C and 19°C along the coast, 10°C to 17°C across the interior and High Plateaus, and 12°C to 28°C in the Sahara. Afternoon temperatures will reach 11°C to 19°C on the coast, 10°C to 19°C inland, and 12°C to 30°C in the Sahara. Overnight lows will drop to 8°C–16°C along the coast, 5°C–14°C in the interior and High Plateaus, and 11°C–19°C in the Saharan regions.
