Algiers – December 2025 – For Tuesday, 9 December 2025, the Meteorological Services anticipate a day marked by gentle temperatures and largely stable weather across the northern regions, contrasted by more active and locally stormy conditions in parts of the South.
During the early hours, the northern coastal areas and nearby inland zones will experience light fog and low clouds. These formations are expected to lift gradually, clearing the way for skies that remain bright to partially veiled throughout the day. This pattern reflects a calm and mild atmospheric setting typical of late autumn in northern Algeria.
In southern regions, however, weather conditions will be more dynamic. Over the Hoggar and Tassili massifs, the Central Sahara, the northern Sahara belt and the Oasis regions, skies will vary from thinly veiled to locally cloudy, accompanied by scattered rainfall. These rains are forecast to intensify in specific areas, developing into localized thunderstorms—particularly over In Salah and Tamanrasset starting from the afternoon. As the evening approaches, clearer skies are expected to prevail across the northern Sahara, the Central Sahara, and the Hoggar and Tassili regions.
Elsewhere across the southern territories, the sky will remain generally clear to lightly veiled, maintaining a more tranquil weather pattern.
Temperature forecasts show notable regional contrasts. Morning temperatures will range between 17°C and 22°C along the coast, 13°C to 20°C in the interior and the High Plateaus, and 14°C to 23°C across the Sahara. During the afternoon, values will stay mild, with 16°C to 22°C expected along coastal areas, 14°C to 22°C inland and on the High Plateaus, and 16°C to 25°C across the Saharan regions. Nighttime cooling will be more pronounced, dropping temperatures to 8°C–11°C on the coast, 5°C–11°C in the interior and the High Plateaus, and 9°C–19°C across the Sahara.
